In November 2019, over 2,000 sqft of lawn, gravel, palms, oleander, & other non-native plants were mostly replaced with various California native plants & cultivars featuring:

• a decomposed granite (DG) seating area bordered with small boulders

• garden-tolerant CA native plants with an emphasis on year-round flower/foliage color & neat growing patterns

• a winding, raised path made of decomposed granite (DG) leading to the patio

• battery-powered irrigation timers that automatically water with high-efficiency sprinkler heads (no electricity required)
