In January 2022, around 800 sqft of lawn, palms, & other non-native plants were replaced with various California native plants & cultivars via a rebate from SoCal Water$mart.

• California native plants with an emphasis on low, evergreen manzanita groundcover 

• a dry pond of crane-placed boulders planted with grasses, rushes, & succulents (fed by a downspout during rain events)

• a single-zone, water-efficient irrigation system

• a Ceanothus anchoring the corner & Western Redbud specimen
