Island Morning Glory is a long and fast growing, Summer semi-dormant vine with medium green small ivy looking leaves. They remind me of the Fellowship emblem in Lord of the Rings. A pretty plant with white or pinkish flowers. This plant is called Island Morning Glory, but can be found growing in many different areas on the mainland.

In the garden, this plant is used by CA native enthusiast for a pop of interest among other native shrubs. I have used mine to grow on metal arbor. It was stunning. It last a few years, then the root rotted away for some reason. It will need a yearly pruning and refresh. Throughout the growing season you’ll need to hedge trim or snip the new growth to keep it contained. If you don’t, it will likely turn into an unorganized mass.
